How might we visually demonstrate what our unified product looks like?

Situation
The product was a combination of multiple products, which even though followed the same design system, was filled with different component implementations and patterns used. A very important upcoming demo for an important conference presented an opportunity to show what our product could be as a unified experience, which included opportunities to improve our visual UI.

Process

Understand current issues from usability research.

Align team on goals, design heuristics and brand values to focus on.

Diverge on design explorations by multiple designers and converge on a few directions.

Test with users and review with team.

Finalize style sheet and apply to demo designs.

Results

Received leadership approval to implement the design changes to the CSS of the whole product, which was implemented less than 2 months later.

This was a stepping stone on starting to adjust structure and layout of components and pages for unification of the product.
